Saudi French Public Transport Company signs agreements with Mercedes and MAN, to supply buses for King Abdulaziz public transport project in Riyadh
Saudi French Public Transport Company signed major agreements with both Mercedes and MAN German companies to determine the terms , conditions , technical specifications and manufacturing process to supply approximately 1,000 buses to operate future bus network within King Abdulaziz public transport project in Riyadh.
Recall that Saudi French Public Transport Company is a joint venture company represent Saudi Public Transport CO. "SAPTCO" and French RATP Dev to King Abdulaziz project for supply, operation and maintenance of public transport buses in Riyadh, they signed agreements on the sidelines of the General Conference of the International Association of public transport UITP which ended in Montreal city attendant Mr. Masaki Ogata "President UITP" and "Mr. Pierre Calvet the candidate for President of the Union" and Mr. Alan Flaosh, Secretary General of the International Union of Public Transport.
On this occasion, Eng. Khalid Alhogail Board of Directors representative, CEO of SAPTCO and Chairman of Saudi French Public Transport Company, announced "Project supply, operation and maintenance of buses in Riyadh will combines global experience of famous RATP Dev And local knowledge of SAPTCO, which will enable Saudi French Public Transport Company to implement and operate the project on a global level in terms of quality and efficiency in all the components of the project, "Eng. Khalid Alhogail said that Saudi French Public Transport Company is intending to provide high quality services to satisfy the aspirations of Riyadh development authority and the aspirations of the society.
Eng. Alhogail explained that all buses were designed in modern and distinct specification on line with Riyadh's bus project in particular. Adding, Mercedes and MAN taking over project bus supply functions confirms the commitment of SAPTCO and RATP Dev Setting up and operating the network with the highest world standards in terms of bus fleet and technical applications used to support and enrich the customer experience and public transportation users.
Mrs. Lawrence Patel Chairman Board of Directors RATP Dev in her part insured that these agreements represent a significant achievement in preparation for implementation of bus network and global level in Riyadh, expressing the proud feelings of RATP Dev to work alongside her partner "SAPTCO" for the implementation of this ambitious project. Stressing that major conventions concluded by Saudi French Public Transport Company represents a breakthrough for an important stage of implementing this contract which is one of the largest and most exclusive contracts for RATP Dev group, enabling the group to create a pilot site in an area with many infrastructure projects.
In the same context Mr. Amjad Hadad Juffali company sales manager expressed his pleasure that Mercedes and Juffali are key partner in this big strategic project through manufacture and supply the best generation of Mercedes Benz buses with sophisticated techniques with fifth generation engines (Euro 5) for the first time in Saudi market. Describing the project as a starting point and a new era for public transportation in the Kingdom.
While Mr. Rudy coshta first Vice President for MAN company said that MAN and its distributor in the kingdom Hajj Hussein Ali Reza company, are happy to participate in this project which represents a milestone in the Gulf region, adding: we are proud to offer the latest technology and the best specifications for man buses to participate in the implementation of the pilot project.
It should be noted that Riyadh Development Authority has contracted SAPTCO and RATP Dev to supply , operation and maintenance of public transport buses in Riyadh, King Abdul Aziz project, and bus network will operate approximately 1,000 comprises (3 tracks dedicated lanes, as rapid transport bus BRT) 21 a key routes to link neighborhood in addition to more than 60 bus routes (fixed lines and other on demand) and will execute and run those lines in three stages, and will operate more than 90 million miles , transport 100 million passengers a year.
